After months of cold weather, snow and ice, it’s a good idea to add garage door maintenance to your Spring cleaning checklist.
A little bit can go a long way in prolonging the life of your Garage door.
Check your seals
Inside the garage with the door closed, look for any gaps between the doors rubber seals and the floor of the garage. If you see light coming through, give us a call to replace, if light is getting through, so is cold air and water.
Lubrication
Hinges, rollers and springs need to be lubricated from time to time to prolong their life and have them work properly. Use a silicone spry or white lithium grease and wipe away the excess.
Tighten up those nuts
Tighten all the door and track hardware as over time, they can loosen causing your garage door to rattle and get uneven.
Clear the Track
Over the past year, debris and dirt can collect in the track of your garage door, now is a good time to wipe them down and spray in some lubricant.
